App store

Leaf runs your games, but it also runs apps: small native programs that live alongside your library and launch from the Apps tab. They share the same look, themes, fonts, and controls as the rest of Leaf, so they feel like part of the firmware rather than something bolted on.

This section is new and will grow over time. For now it is home to one app.

Installing an app

Apps ship as a .pak folder. Copy it into the Apps/mlp1/ folder on the SD card, then run a rescan so Leaf picks it up: press the MENU button in the launcher, choose System → Rescan Library, and the app appears in the Apps tab. Launch it like any game.

On-device installs are coming

Copying a .pak by hand is how it works for now. A later Leaf update will let you browse this app store and install apps right on the device, over Wi-Fi, with no computer or SD-card shuffling needed.
